SCOTUS Dings Obama Administration On Drug Deportation

The case of a Tunisian professor with two Master’s degrees who was deported after he was found with four pills of Adderall in a sock was a lightning rod for the Supreme Court, which has reversed several similar rulings in the last few years. The Justices found the case somewhat exasperating, with Justice Elana Kagan suggesting “[I]f you go to half the colleges in America… and just randomly pick somebody, there would be a decent chance” that they were carrying a similar amount of the popular attention-deficit medication. “Is a sock considered drug paraphernalia under federal law?” Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg asked.
