SCOTUS Considers Increasing Infringement Damages

The Supreme Court this week agreed to consider whether to make it easier for patent holders to win increased damages when their inventions are willfully infringed. Opponents claim that allowing judges to increase damages would encourage forum shopping and force smaller companies to settle infringement allegations for fear of being saddled with unsustainable damage claims.
