Sandy Hook Parents, Teacher, Sue Rifle Maker For School Shooting

The families of nine of the 26 people killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook elementary school massacre, along with one teacher who was injured, have filed a negligence and wrongful death lawsuit against the maker, distributor and seller of the rifle used in the killings. The lawsuit claims the Bushmaster AR-15 rifle should not have been made publicly available because it was designed for military use, and is unsuited to hunting or home self defense. Defendants include firearm distributor Camfour and the shop where the gunman’s mother purchased the rifle in 2010.
