SAC: Perfect Size to Prosecute?

Government targeting of SAC Capital Advisors may be explainable by, if not motivated by, the fact the company is not “too big to prosecute.” That’s a concept suggested by Attorney General Eric Holder a few weeks ago, and it has garnered him some sharp criticism. A commentator suggests the operative formula for the DOJ may be: A big legal hit against SAC wouldn’t hurt the economy, but the company is big enough and allegedly culpable enough to make the perfect semi-high-profile target.
