Rolling Stones Sue Insurers For Concerts Cancelled After Death

The Rolling Stones are suing for millions in insurance after the death of singer Mick Jagger’s long-time girlfriend forced them to cancel a concert tour. The group had taken out a $23.9 million insurance policy, to come into force in the event shows had to be cancelled due to death of family members. When L’Wren Scott took her own life, Jagger was diagnosed with “acute traumatic stress disorder” and advised by doctors to cancel shows for 30 days. However, insurance underwriters are pushing back. The state of Utah just approved an insurer request for an investigation into Scott’s mental health before her suicide, with underwriters suggesting if Scott suffered from a pre-existing mental illness, her death may not be covered under the policy.
