Republican Delay On AG Nominee Extends Eric Holder’s Stay

Nearly six months after Attorney General Eric Holder announced his resignation—pending the confirmation of his successor—he remains in the job, as Republicans continue to drag their feet on a vote for Obama’s nominee, Loretta Lynch. “The House has voted to hold the current attorney general in contempt, and dozens of Republicans have previously called on him to resign. Now that he actually has, they refuse to let him leave,” The Atlantic writes. “The delay is peculiar chiefly because there doesn’t seem to be a clear reason for it.”
