Recovering From ‘Year Of The Breach’

Retailers and major corporations reeled from massive data breaches in 2014—Forbes estimates that about 40 percent of companies experienced some form of cyber attack—and Jones Day cybersecurity lawyer Jay Johnson says the onslaught will continue in 2015. Meanwhile, the cybersecurity framework unveiled by the National Institute of Standards and Technology this year may become the de facto industry standard, while the Justice Department took the unprecedented move of indicting five Chinese military members for allegedly staging a hack to uncover trade secrets, and President Obama has signed the largest ever legislative package on cybersecurity into law.
