Real Cybersecurity Tips for Law Firms

Quick takes from a mix of experts, especially targeted to small and mid-sized law firms.  While some of the recommendations here will be numbingly familiar and hard to fault  (train your employees!) others will be news to many. Two of the sources – co-authors of several cybersecurity books for the ABA – provide safe-browsing tips that include a list of extensions that can be installed to improve security and privacy. One recommendation is a protocol that will alert you if one of your passwords has been breached. There is also some advice about how to avoid one potentially self-inflicted cyber disaster: locking yourself out of your own data.
