Questionably Useful Guidance From The CFPB

The  Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has released its first official statement delineating what will constitute “responsible business conduct” that will result in favorable treatment for a business subject to an enforcement action. It lists four approved general categories of conduct, under the familiar headings of self-policing, self-reporting, remediation, and cooperation. The writers find the document to be sorely lacking in specifics.
