Qualcomm Inc. Faces FCPA Charges For China Bribery

Qualcomm received notice from the SEC on March 13 that it recommends an enforcement action against the company for bribery in China. The allegations and investigation started in 2012 after a whistleblower complaint. An internal inquiry by Qualcomm found gifts, and hiring considerations were provided to several individuals associated with Chinese state-owned companies or agencies. The company disclosed the situation in an SEC filing. The DOJ has begun an investigation.
