“Procurement Collusion Strike Force” Will Target Govt Contractors

A DOJ strike force that was first assembled in 2019 is expected to take a more active role under the new administration. According to an update from the DOJ’s antitrust division, the Procurement Collusion Strike Force, after an initial period devoted largely to increasing awareness of antitrust crimes involving government contracts, is “gearing up to bring investigations to the recommendation and disposition stage.” In addition to listing several recent indictments, the statement said the PCSF is implementing a “Data Analytics Project,” which will scrutinize vast amounts of data in order to find patterns that suggest bid-rigging. Another project, called “PCSF: Global,” will be dedicated to international investigations. The strike force includes U.S. Attorneys from a number of district offices. agents and investigative personnel from the FBI, DOJ, the GSA, and the Postal Service, and partners from the Air Force Office of Special Investigations and the Department of Homeland Security.
