Privacy Advocacy Group Sues Gov’t For NSA Surveillance Reports

The privacy advocacy group Electronic Privacy Information Center has filed a lawsuit against the federal government, seeking access to reports on an NSA record-keeping effort that collected massive amounts of data from the Internet. The data was collected under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), which requires the Justice Department to send semiannual reports to the House and Senate Intelligence Committees. EPIC has asked for an expedited ruling to release the reports, which the group says are likely include statistics about the scope of the program.
