Prison For Law Partner Without License

Despite not having a law license, former legal secretary Kimberly Kitchen rose to partner at BMZ Law and practiced for 10 years. She also served as the president of the Huntingdon County Bar Association in Pennsylvania. Her deception was discovered by a fellow employee, and this week she was sentenced to two to five years in prison. “Not only did she pretend to be a lawyer but she pretended to be the best and biggest around,” said Judge Frederic Ammerman. Kitchen was convicted in March on charges of unauthorized practice of law, forgery and felony records tampering.
