Porngate Gets Special Prosecutor

The former attorney general of Maryland will investigate charges that officials in Pennsylvania’s office of attorney general exchanged pornographic emails with judges and prosecutors using state accounts. Douglas F. Gansler, who ran for the Democratic nomination for governor of Maryland last year, was recruited for the special prosecutorial job by Pennsylvania AG Kathleen Kane. Gansler works for Washington law firm BuckleySandler. Kane faces criminal charges for allegedly leaking grand jury information to a reporter, and has had her law license suspended since September.
