Political Contribution Disclosure Gets A Pass From The SEC

Public interest groups are livid over the SEC’s failure to put a political contribution disclosure requirement on its rulemaking agenda for 2014 and want to know why the SEC is dragging its feet on taking up “the most widely supported rulemaking in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s history.” A statement from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce lauded the decision, calling the proposal a threat to First Amendment rights. The SEC indicated that it may still it take up at some point in the future.
