Phoning and Texting “Hands-Free” Still A Big Driving Hazard

A potential sleeper liability issue was laid bare by a University of Utah study that received widespread media attention. It found that devices are hands-free but not head-free, and you still need your head to drive. “These new, speech-based technologies in the car can overload the driver’s attention and impair their ability to drive safely,” says one of the researchers.
