Patent Troll Myths?

This article is part of a series in which the writer looks at what he characterizes as pervasive media-hyped myths about non-practicing entities, aka patents trolls. In this installment he considers two common notions: that they assert poor patents, and that they are responsible for the majority of the patent litigation filed after the passage of the America Invents Act. He marshals data from the Lexis Total Patent database and other sources to argue that neither of these statements is even close to being true.
