One In Five Say Their Firms Have Covered Up Breach

At a recent cyber security conference -focused RSA Conference, one in five of the more than 1,000 attendees surveyed said they have worked at a company that suffered a breach, and then hid it. Though 61 percent of those surveyed said they would privately tell a company about a breach, if they discovered one, just nine percent of respondents said that hiding a breach is the right course of action. Most – about 67 percent – said a breach is a good time to visit the board and ask for an adequate security budget.
