Studies and statistics confirm what many suspect, that here are significant occupational hazards associated with the practice of law. They are broadly characterized as stress and burnout, but are reflected more specifically in quantifiable data. For example, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control, suicides are more common among lawyers than in all but two other occupational groups, doctors and dentists. Among the common “stressors” for attorneys are relentless deadlines and the pressure that results from internalizing the problems of clients.
