NFL Player Takes On FanDuel

National Football League wide receiver Pierre Garcon has filed a putative class action lawsuit against fantasy football betting site FanDuel.com, claiming the site has unjustly benefitted from using his name, image, and likeness in an advertising campaign. Garcon’s image has featured prominently in much of FanDuel’s national ad campaigns this year, which Garcon claims is a misappropriation, and is “likely to create confusion among potential users” concerning Garcon’s sponsorship or approval of FanDuel and its daily fantasy football gaming products. Garcon formerly promoted FanDuel.
