Musk’s SpaceX Company Suing The Air Force

After the successful launch and soft landing of its Falcon 9 rocket, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said the company intends to file a lawsuit against the Air Force as part of an effort to be able to compete for security-related contracts. Musk wants certification of SpaceX and a chance to bid for launch projects in a contractor pool that now excludes his company. The company provided a short video clip of the recent test launch and soft landing of the Falcon 9, in which the landing looks oddly like a launch video run backwards. Soft landings, which have been an elusive engineering feat, could allow cheaper flights because the vehicle will be reusable.
