According to the Miami Herald, capital fleeing Latin American countries that are experiencing political instability is flooding into Miami, and law firms are setting up niche practices to serve wealthy new clients. A Greenberg Traurig shareholder now specializes in design-industry issues. Greenspoon Marder is setting up a liquor-law practice. “Foreign investors have transformed our landscape,’’ says John Sumberg, managing partner at Miami’s Bilzin Sumberg. Counterfeit wine and night-life related issues are also spawning specialty practices, as “Miami becomes more attractive to the global uber-rich.”
