Menendez Trial Attorney a “Fire-Eating Pain In The Butt” No Longer

Leslie Abramson, once described in the Washington Post as a “fire-eating, mud-slinging, nuclear-strength pain in the legal butt,” is so laid back now that she wouldn’t even meet with Edie Falco, the film star who plays her in Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders. Abramson’s all out but unsuccessful effort to clear the Menendez brothers after they’d confessed to murdering their parents made her a star in her own right, but notoriety no longer interests her. Two years ago, when she gave the Ruth Bader Ginsburg lecture at the Successful Women and The Law conference, she talked about some high profile cases she’d been involved with, and said: “What is necessary to be a great criminal lawyer is something women already have, a desire to understand people and human relationships.”
