Mass. Votes In Paid Sick Leave Requirement

In last week’s mid-term elections, 60 percent of Massachusetts voters approved a new measure requiring employers to provide sick leave to all employees. The new law further provides for paid sick leave for employees, part time and full time, at companies with 11 or more employees. Currently, about one-third of Massachusetts workers were not covered by such programs The new policy will take effect on July 1, 2015.
