Mass. Governor Supports Eliminating Non-Competes

Massachusetts may be poised to follow California in eliminating non-compete agreements, at least if Gov. Deval Patrick (D) has his way. At a hearing before the state’s Joint Committee on Labor and Workforce Development, Deval’s Secretary of Housing and Economic Development Gregory Bialecki confirmed that the administration supports “outright elimination of enforceability” of all non-compete agreements, regardless of duration or scope.
