Litigator Embroiled In $100M Art Mystery

Pierce O’Donnell – a prominent Los Angeles litigator who played a role in the sale of the L.A. Clippers and in the Sumner Redstone saga – is now arguing the authenticity of a $100 million Jackson Pollock painting. O’Donnell is co-owner of the painting, “Pink Spring,” with partner Maitreya Kadre. Now, O’Donnell says, Kadre is obstructing efforts to bring the painting to market, including standing in the way of the authentication process. “I felt sincere about selling this masterpiece,” O’Donnell said. “Unfortunately, she has frustrated every effort to sell it.” For now, the painting is languishing in an L.A. storage facility. He has accused Kadre of breach of contract and fiduciary duty, as well as fraud.
