Leveraging Data To Create a Narrative In Litigation

Data forms the bulk of factual evidence contained in a narrative that makes sense of the events at issue in any litigation. Some of the data analytics that have proven useful in litigation are email threading, textual near duplicate analysis, conceptual analysis, and predictive coding. These tools replace the human resources that were previously required to review data, a methodology that didn’t provide much in the way of the insights required to make meaningful connections. In order to do that, work had to be duplicated post-review to finally connect the relevant information and weave it into a factual narrative. Data analytics tools and methods allow litigators to develop strategic review processes that eliminate irrelevant information. Then they can use the insights they gain to generate stories that are the key to successful lawsuits.
