Lawyer Who Cried Over Lost Pants Faces Discipline

A lawyer who sued his dry cleaner for $54 million over a pair of lost pants, and who cried in the courtroom over the mental suffering he says the loss caused him, faces suspension for his courtroom antics. The D.C. Board of Professional Responsibility found that Roy Pearson presented arguments unsupported by facts or the law and interfered with the administration of justice. The Board recommended a 30-day suspension, and the case will now go before the Board of Professional Responsibility, then the D.C. Court of Appeals.
