Lawyer Sues “Lazy and Incompetent Young Adults” Who Criticized His Firm

After numerous scathing comments about his law firm appeared on an online forum. a California trial attorney filed a defamation suit against 25 “John Does” and served the forum host, Glassdoor.com, with a subpoena seeking to identify some of the anonymous posters. When asked to comment by the author of this post for the Above the Law website, the attorney appeared more than willing to oblige: He berated people like his critics who are “unwilling to recognize their shortcomings” and so turn to anonymous blogs “to spit their venom.” They ought to be upset with their parents, he says, “for raising lazy and incompetent young adults.” Most employers, he adds, are too busy to post their own comments about derelict former employees, although it would be service to society if they did. “For example, I would love to post information about employees who graduated law school, but can’t put two sentences together, or those that are sick at least one day every week.”
