Lawyer Stole Confidential Info For His Side-Hustle

A Houston law firm is accusing one of its former lawyers of stealing confidential client information to use at the law firm he was running on the side. The lawsuit claims that, while Eric Osterrieder was working full-time as an intellectual property lawyer at Matthews, Lawson, McCutheon & Joseph, he was also “sending, transferring and disclosing the highly confidential and trade secret information” to his own law firm. He used that information to identify and contact clients and unfairly compete with Matthews Lawson.
