Lawsuit Targets Sex Content On Snapchat

According to a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court, Los Angeles, Snapchat fails to warn young users and their parents about sexual content on its app. Some allegedly explicit articles from media sites like MTV and Cosmopolitan often appear in the “discover” section of the app. The Los Angeles Times reports that courts have protected companies like Snapchat from liability for material distributed from third party sources. The lawsuit claims that Snapchat selects the media that distributes content across its platform and shouldn’t get immunity.
