Lawsuit Over Rare Book Collection Of ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ Author

A lawsuit will determine the fate of the personal library of legendary children’s author and illustrator Maurice Sendak, who died two years ago. The Rosenback Museum and Library in Philadelphia is suing Sendak’s estate, saying they are blocking the museum from retaining and displaying many works from the late author’s rare book collection, as well as some original writings and illustrations, per Sendak’s will. Strange argument: Can a children’s book be “a rare book”?
