Lawmaker Compares Lincoln To Hitler

Larry Pittman, a member of North Carolina’s House of Representatives, uses the comments section of his Facebook page to unburden himself on a variety of issues. He recently wrote that Lincoln and Adolph Hitler were “the same sort if [sic] tyrant,” and said Lincoln was personally responsible for the deaths of over 800,000 Americans, in an “unnecessary and unconstitutional” war. The comments came in response to critique of a bill he’d introduced to make the Supreme Court ruling that legalized marriage equality “null and void” in North Carolina.
