Law Profs’ 17-Year Divorce Battle Draws Judicial Ire

The two law professors who are engaged in a divorce battle leading back to 1996 have “pushed the envelope with regard to abusing the court system,” Ohio’s Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Leslie Ghiz said at a hearing. “I am really shocked, because when I was in law school my professors were outstanding. They never would have told me that behaving the way you all have, both of you, over the past twenty years, is acceptable behavior.” Sharlene Boltz and Christo Lassiter married in 1986 and were divorced ten years later. The end isn’t in sight. There is another hearing scheduled for Sept. 6, because Lassiter believes he is still owed money. Ghiz said, “Both parties ought to be admonished by the State Bar of Ohio.”
