Law Firm Leaders Say Robots Will Replace Attorneys

According to a recent survey, law firm leaders say that within 10 years, new attorneys and paralegals could be replaced by an IBM Watson-like computer. Responses came from high-ranking lawyers at 320 firms with at least 50 lawyers on staff, 35 percent of whom envision replacing first-year associates with a robot in the coming decade. About 20 percent of respondents said second- and third-year attorneys could also be replaced by technology.
