Law Firm Can’t Shake Fraud Suit

Motions to dismiss by defendant Proskauer Rose have been denied at the state court and appeals court levels. Further appeals are planned. The firm is defending itself against allegations related to tax shelter advice it provided to heirs of the Johnson & Johnson fortune 15 years ago. Plaintiffs claim that firm attorneys discussed the tax shelter offered by The Diversified Group, but failed to reveal a fee-sharing arrangement that effectively made Proskauer and the tax consulting firm partners.
