Kesha Drops Abuse Case Against Dr. Luke

Singer Kesha has dropped her high-profile California civil abuse case against music producer Dr. Luke, saying she wants to focus on music while her “fight continues” in New York courts. Kesha has accused Luke, a Grammy-nominated producer whose real name is Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald, of sexual, physical, verbal, and emotional abuse over the course of a decade. Luke denies the claims and says the suit is the result of a contract dispute. “Kesha has dismissed her California action without prejudice while she pursues her appeal and other legal claims in New York courts,” her lawyer Daniel Petrocelli told the Los Angeles Times. In a series of tweets, Dr. Luke said, “It’s sad that [Kesha] would turn a contract negotiation into something so horrendous and untrue.”
