JPMorgan Building Elite Cybercombat Team

JPMorgan Chase has hired a team of largely ex-military cybercombat pros to bolster its security in response to perceived threats from foreign governments, and after not getting the help it hoped for from the U.S. government. Two former Air Force cyber experts lead the banking giant’s digital security team of 1,000, more than twice that of Google. JPMorgan believes it is faces threats from China and Iran, and some sources connected to the bank told Bloomberg that the bank believes the Kremlin may have been behind last summer’s massive cyberbreach, in which names, addresses and emails for 83 million customers were exposed.
