With the death of Sen. Frank Lautenberg, there will need to be some reshuffling of the players who are negotiating a rewrite of legislation regulating chemicals. Lautenberg was a key participant in a legislative work-in-progress that had gained the support of the chemical industry as well as some moderate health and consumer groups.
