Patent litigation is nearly inevitable for any sustained business enterprise. Either you’ll feel constrained to go after an infringer or you’ll be accused of infringing. But there are ways to make litigation more or less likely, says Jeremy Coombs from MultiLing. In this post he looks at three common failings that increase the risk. Steering clear of these mistakes, he writes, “will not guarantee a risk-free patent, but it will surely help avoid unnecessary litigation and the expenses involved, and leave you better prepared to fight for your patent rights if needed.”
