Citing Obama “Mixed Signals,” House Panel Holding Marijuana Hearing

A House subcommittee will hold a hearing on what its chairman calls the Obama administration’s “schizophrenic messaging” about the legal treatment of marijuana. In a CNN interview last week, President Obama said revising national marijuana enforcement laws was a job for Congress. Now Rep. John Mica (R-Fla.), chair of the House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on Government Operations, said the administration’s remarks on the subject thus far have “left the states and law enforcement in a difficult and untenable position,” and he has scheduled a hearing on the issue starting today.
