Honeymoon For New Regulations Czar Likely To Be Short

It’s been a the month since Howard Shelanski became administrator of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), a position sometimes called the regulatory czar. He has met with numerous groups, promising faster rulemaking to the environmentalists, regulatory “look-back” and reduction of burdensome regs to business, and withal defending the methods the Administration used to arrive at the cost of carbon emissions. Everyone is listening, and no one seems ready to pounce just yet.
