The flexibility of a small firm can make it tempting to forego formalwear altogether, but FindLaw suggests you first consider the clientele. Silicon Valley startups may favor hoodies and jeans, but a Fortune 500 company is unlikely to see the upside of casual wear. Second, in any case, best keep a change of clothes at the office or in the car. If a court appearance is called for, the judge is unlikely to take kindly to flip-flops.
