Hackers Targeting Hollywood Post-Sony

It’s been a year since the massive hack on Sony threw Hollywood into security and PR turmoil. But, according to a new survey, the entertainment industry has only become a larger target for cyber criminals since then. Of the more than 300 media executives surveyed, 46 percent reporting having been subject to cyberattacks in the last year. And, worryingly, media employees themselves are becoming an increasing threat: 45 percent of those surveyed said their attacks came from vendors that work with their company. Entertainment firms have increased their spending on security, to $4.5 million this year versus $3.6 million for the year prior.
