Hacker, Heroin Plotter Faces Cybercrime Charges

A Ukrainian hacker who once hatched a plot to have heroin sent to Cybersecurity blogger Brian Krebs’ Virginia home and then alert police when the drugs arrived had his first appearance in a U.S. court, after being extradited to face multiple cybercrime charges. Sergey Vovnenko, a.k.a. “Fly,” is in a New Jersey Courtroom on charges of stealing, selling credit card and banking data, and emptying bank accounts, among other alleged crimes. Krebs tells how he became acquainted with the Fly’s M.O., and the Ukranian’s attempt to take revenge.
