Google Threatens To Expose Cybersecurity Gaps

Google has issued an ultimatum to high tech firms: If you don’t fix your software vulnerabilities within 90 days, we will make them public. Some vulnerabilities at Microsoft and Apple have already been exposed by Google’s Project Zero, its elite team of hackers and programmers, who inspect both Google and its competitors. Some firms take issue with this process, saying it should be conducted by the government and not a private company, or that the notifications should be made confidentially so hackers don’t get the heads up.
