GM Fires 15 After Report On Ignition Switch Recall

General Motors CEO Mary Barra said the automaker has fired 15 people and disciplined five others, after a 300-page report by former U.S. attorney Anton Valukas in Chicago revealed that the company failed repeatedly in delaying a recall of 2.6 million cars linked to at least 13 deaths and 47 crashes for more than a decade. The report was the result of three months of work in which Valukas reviewed 41 million pages of records and conducted 350 interviews with 230 people. It is harshly critical and offers GM 90 recommendations in eight major areas, the automaker said.
