Former Partners Of Bankrupt Howery Firm To Pay Back $4.2M

Former partners of law firm Howrey LLP will pay back between $21,000 and $192,000 each under an agreement reached with the firm’s bankruptcy estate.The firm was dissolved in March 2011. Overall, 60 former partners will pay the estate a total of $4.2 million. Though they urged San Francisco Bankruptcy Judge Dennis Montali to approve the settlement, the former partners in a filing said they “do not agree with trustee’s and the [creditor] committee’s assessment of the claims against former Howrey partners, certain facts going to the merits of those claims, or the trustee’s ability to successfully pursue those claims.”
