Former FBI chief Robert Mueller will join Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale & Dorr LLP as a partner. Mueller, who ran the FBI for 12 years, currently holds a teaching appointment at Stanford University. His tenure began a week before the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks and ended last summer as disclosures about secret National Security Agency data-gathering programs triggered a national debate about government surveillance.
