Many consumers have more than one credit card, but it’s relatively rare to have more than one passport. That is, unless you happen to be one of the world’s 211,275 ultra-high net-worth individuals with assets of more than $30 million, according to a recent study by insurer National Financial Partners and the research organization Wealth-X. The superrich tend to own property in numerous counties, and they are also far more likely than the rest of the population to have an extra passport or two. Luxury real estate is “the new Swiss bank account,” says the president of Wealth-X.
